How does the Hybrid program differ from a fully online or on-campus program?
Hybrid programs combine the flexibility of online learning with the connection & hands-on experience of in-person education. Unlike a fully online program, you'll have dedicated opportunities for face-to-face engagement, & unlike a traditional on-campus program, you'll have greater flexibility to balance your studies with work and life commitments - all without sacrificing academic quality or clinical preparation.

How is classroom instruction delivered in the hybrid format?
Classroom instruction is delivered through live, online sessions held at scheduled times each week. You'll join your faculty and classmates in real-time for lectures, discussions, and collaborative activities - just as you would in a traditional classroom.

How often will I be required to come to campus and for how long?
Students will come to the YSN campus to engage in immersive experiences 3 times over the course of the program. Each campus immersion will include relevant skills development and interactive learning.

Are clinical placements guaranteed?
Are clinical placements guaranteed?
We support students in securing clinical placements with the aid of YSN’s Clinical Support Unit (CSU), but they are not guaranteed in all circumstances. Placement opportunities depend on availability of approved sites, state regulations, and faculty oversight capacity. Students may be required to complete some telehealth clinical hours or travel within a reasonable distance to ensure completion of program and licensure requirements.
Is the program offered full- or part-time? How long does it take to complete?
The program is structured on a part-time, three‑year timeline with a carefully sequenced curriculum and integrated clinical and immersion experiences. Only part-time enrollment is permitted, and the program cannot be completed in less time than three academic years.

Can I complete the program while working full-time?
We understand individuals enter our program from many different stages in life, families, and careers. While we do not dictate a specific limitation on work hours, by accepting a position in the program it is expected the student will be able to commit to at least 15-30 hours per week.

Are applicants from all states or locations eligible?
The program is unable to accept applications from prospective students who would be residing in any of the following states during enrollment are currently not eligible to apply: Alabama, California, District of Columbia, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Tennessee. Additionally, non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents are not eligible to apply.
